Our Team is what makes Loka yoga special
Our team comprises practitioners committed to our fields of expertise. By dedicating our lives to our self-practice and development, we have gained the ability to aid others in taking the next step on their journey. Every training is designed to have a completely interactive experience, allowing our students to study the ‘map’ of yogic, meditation or breathwork teachings and explore the ‘territory’ internally through deep practices that will be closely facilitated. Our courses ensure the graduates will teach from a place of true experiential wisdom rather than borrowed knowledge from books.

Taryn Weggelaar
ABOUT TARYN
Born and raised by the pristine coastline of Western Australia, Taryn Weggelaar’s earliest teachers were the wild and untamed natural world around her. Surrounded by ocean, bush and the vast Australian outback, she developed from a young age a deep and enduring reverence for life, breath and the present moment. It was this innate connection to the natural world that would later find its perfect expression through the ancient science of yoga.
Taryn first encountered yoga at the age of 16 and, whilst the seed was planted early, it was in 2008 that she truly devoted herself to the practice and dived deep into Yoga Philosophy.
She became a Registered Yoga Teacher in 2013 and has since logged over 18,000 hours of professional teaching experience with Yoga Alliance, holding the prestigious E-RYT 500 designation.
Over the course of her career, she has taught in Australia, India, Indonesia and internationally, led countless yoga retreats across multiple countries, served as lead teacher trainer on numerous 200-hour Yoga Teacher Trainings and has had the honour and privilege of graduating hundreds of successful, certified yoga teachers who are now sharing the practice across the globe.
A true student of the science and soul of yoga, Taryn’s thirst for knowledge has taken her far beyond the yoga studio and deep into the very roots of the tradition.
In 2016, she lived in India for a full year, immersing herself in the yogic lifestyle and studying under various revered gurus and spiritual teachers. During this profoundly transformational time, she had the extraordinary privilege of receiving a personal blessing from His Holiness the Dalai Lama, as well as attending satsangs and teachings by globally celebrated spiritual masters Mooji and Sri Prem Baba, amongst many other deeply respected teachers.
This immersive year of study, devotion and self-inquiry left an indelible mark on Taryn’s understanding of yoga, not merely as a physical practice, but as a complete and ancient science for living; a path toward truth, freedom and the direct experience of one’s own inner light.
It is this depth of lived experience, combined with years of rigorous academic and spiritual study, that makes Taryn not only a highly skilled yoga teacher, but a genuinely authentic and qualified Yoga Philosophy teacher.
Unlike many in the field, Taryn does not teach philosophy from a textbook. She has sat at the feet of some of the world’s most respected spiritual masters, absorbed the teachings from the source and has integrated this wisdom into both her personal practice and her professional teaching over many years. Students consistently leave her philosophy classes and trainings with those powerful and rare “ah ha!” moments that shift perspective, dissolve confusion and open the heart to a deeper understanding of themselves and the world around them.
Together with her partner and co-owner Yann Cadic, Taryn has built Loka Yoga School into one of the most trusted, respected and internationally recognised yoga schools in Bali, operating since 2016.
In 2025, Taryn and Yann realised a long-held dream by completing the build of their very own yoga space, Bali Yoga Shala, a stunning, purpose-built shala nestled amongst the emerald rice paddies of Kedungu, Bali, just 1km from the beach. This beautiful space now serves as the home of all Loka Yoga School in-person trainings and is a true reflection of the love, dedication and vision that Taryn and Yann have poured into their school and their students.
In the classroom, Taryn is known for her warmth, her clarity, her extraordinary attention to detail and her genuine, heart-led desire to be of service. Her teaching style is progressive and inclusive, layering alignment with breath awareness, philosophical depth with real-world relatability, and ancient wisdom with modern science. She has worked with an extraordinarily diverse range of students, from Olympic athletes and corporate teams to seniors, pregnant women and those navigating mental health challenges, always meeting each individual exactly where they are.
Whether she is guiding a dynamic vinyasa practice, leading a breathwork session, facilitating a meditation, sharing the depths of yoga philosophy or taking students on a transformational retreat in India or Japan, Taryn brings the same unwavering presence, authenticity and devotion to every single offering. Her strongest desire, now as it has always been, is simply to remind each student of the extraordinary power of their own inner light.

Sharada Felicidario
ABOUT Sharada
Almost 20 years ago Sharada’s spiritual journey started with the love for Yoga and Ayur Veda, followed by an Indian Classical Dance called Odissi.
Sharada studied Odissi Indian classical dance and learned about the different archetypes of Hindu mythology, their meanings and stories in India. This devotional dance is a puja, a prayer, in itself. In 2009 she created a group of seven students from Bali and Lombok called ‘The Yoga Dance Dakini’.
Together they danced all over Bali for two months in temples and sacred festivals, as well as at the popular Bali Spirit Festival. Today she still shares the jewels of this ancient practice in a prayerful authentic way during ceremonies, classes and women’s devi circles.
10 years ago she met her revered teacher, Shree Swami Vagishananda Saraswati with whom she has been living and studying the teachings of Advaita Vedanta, Yoga, Vedic mantra chanting, Puja and Sanskrit language. He introduced her to Shree Radhaji, Dr. Carol Whitfield Ph.D. Radha has been Sharada’s teacher of Vedanta, as well as mentor. She guided her personally in psychology, inner child work and meditation.
With the blessings of her teachers she had the privilege and honor to live and study with Shree Pujya Swami Dayananda Saraswati during the last three-and- half year course of Vedanta, Yoga, Sanskrit and Vedic Tradition at Arsha Vidya Gurukulam in Anaikatti, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India. Sharada was asked to teach along with her teachers on many different occasions, guiding and introducing Vedanta, chanting, puja, meditation and Sanskrit language.
Sharada continues to teach in Bali and teaches on different occasions at well known yoga teacher training schools.
Her love for Vedic chanting and prayers have inspired her to record and teach mantras and prayers for students to learn and chant along.
The secret of Devi, ‘the way of the sacred feminine,’ has been a deep discovery for her. Learning many Devi chants brought her closer to understanding more about Goddess, how to honor and worship her. Sharada’s passion and love for the sacred feminine brought her to lead women’s circles & retreats, sacred gatherings, offering a safe non-judgmental space to heal, find self-acceptance and courage. Sharada loves to offer her students support to overcome fears, insecurities and the sense of unworthiness through knowledge, sharing and devotional practices.

Chiara Janssen
ABOUT Chiara
Chiara is a very passionate yoga instructor with teaching experience in different settings around the world.
Her key strengths lie in her adaptability, personal attention, passion and
patience to mentor others. Her story starts in the Netherlands where she grew up surrounded by loving family and friends, but also an adventurous heart. Her adventurous nature and craving to explore the world, led her to many continents and countries, to finally settle in Bali.
After completing her 200 hour YTT, Chiara was immediately teaching yoga in the Netherlands. She taught in both Dutch and English, slowly getting used to an international audience, and understanding the importance of the English language to teach Yoga internationally as well as online.
Working on YTTs here in Bali, she understood the necessity of a broad English vocabulary in teaching yoga, in order to provide students with clear, safe and simple cuing. She also realised that many YTT graduates are not native in English and often lack the confidence to teach and adjust their students in English. These observations inspired Chiara to combine with Loka Yoga School and offer an English Course specifically for Yoga Teachers. She created a comprehensive yoga vocabulary in English, as well as extensive and specific video content, to help international teachers find their voice in English, build safe and strong sequences, and gain confidence teaching in a language that is not their own!
“The teachers at Loka Yoga School are simply world-class experts, extremely knowledgeable and go above and beyond to ensure this is the experience of a lifetime!”

About the Teachers
“The program Taryn and Yann have created at Loka Yoga School is unbelievable. Every piece, from the posture labs, to anatomy class, to workshops, pranayama, group breakfasts, philosophy classes, tantric exercises, meditation, everything. You both work so hard to make sure every single student is seen, heard, and felt! You have touched me so deeply, and I am forever changed from this month. This magical magical month. The attention you have payed to every little detail, shattering our expectations day in and day out. Your hearts are so large, they took all our our sixteen hearts and wove them into one- a bond created only by special humans like you. The way you live your lives is inspiring and everyday you make me want to be a better person. Thank you for the lessons, the care, the passion, and the love.”
– Meghan Cassidy (USA)
“Well, Taryn and Yann… What can I say?! The 200hr YTT has been an absolutely great, inspirational month. I am not even sure I really know what to write! You have absolutely met and completely exceeded all of my expectations. Your ability to bring people together, create space and such a beautiful learning and sharing ability is nothing short of incredible! See you again soon!”
– Lena Enz (Switzerland)
“I came into the process with an open heart and an open mind, ready to change. Within the first 24 hours of being there I had a very open and honest conversation with Taryn. It really felt like the ‘kick off’ to my journey. After our first day emotions were already running high for me. I don’t think Taryn realized the significance of this conversation but it was at that point I knew without a doubt that this woman wanted nothing but to help me heal and grow closer to myself. She listened to me and truly heard me, like no one ever has before. She is truly such a beautiful, powerful individual who has the ability to make you feel seen, heard, supported and empowered all at once. I knew she’d be holding my hand along the entire journey. From the asana, to anatomy, to philosophy I learned so much about myself and yoga as a practice. For me, yoga has always been about connecting the mind, body and soul. Through breath work, anatomy break downs, posture lab workshops and public speaking, I was able to learn from every single aspect of yoga. I have so much respect for Taryn and Yann because they truly embody what a yoga school should be. Their main goal is to guide you to the best version of yourself and in the process they help you to become the best yoga instructor possible.
I was surrounded by like minded individuals for an entire month and that was something I had only ever dreamed about. Being this passionate about my spirituality, physical and mental health is not extremely common. So meeting and becoming best friends with like minded people from all over the world was an experience within itself. I was receiving more support from people I had known less than a month, than people I had known my entire life!! And not just “I’m here if you need anything” support. It was real, raw, genuine empathy, care and support. We were all so different but I loved it that way. Diversity is important in any scenario but especially when it comes to transforming, healing work. I learned so much and was inspired by each and every one of them.
I came into this process really lost, overly stimulated, anxious, self critical, judgmental… I was actually incapable of being nice to myself at the time. Within the first week I became very conscious of my inner dialogue, the way I spoke to myself, the way I let my mind spiral out of control. By the fourth week my inner dialogue was entirely different, I genuinely felt like an entirely different person. Now I am back home and the magic hasn’t faded, even anything its more prominent. I hardly recognize the girl who came through those doors and it still kind of blows my mind how far I have come. I found a sense of peace I never knew I was capable of having. When I’m overstimulated I focus on my breath, when I’m anxious I focus on the breath. The tools and techniques I learned have stuck with me and I’ve been able to apply them to my life here at home. Loka yoga gave me control of my thoughts, emotions, impulses, my LIFE. I feel like I am finally in the driver seat of my life, after years and years of sitting passenger. The ability to love myself has given me the ability to love others a little deeper and kinder. I don’t lose my peace at the drop of a coin, I don’t get so anxious that I become immobile. Im free of all of that, I am in control. And I am HAPPY. Happy with no prerequisites. Im able to just simply be happy and enjoy my life.
– Anna Abusal (USA)
“Taryn as a teacher is truly amazing! Her form, explanation, knowledge and experience is incredible. You felt fully supported throughout the entire 4 weeks. You always knew she had your best interests at heart and you could approach her if you needed anything. The Philosophy classes were incredible! I learnt so much about Yogic Philosophy and also gained important life skills that I will be able to use throughout my life. Yann was an excellent Anatomy teacher and support network as well. I learnt a lot about how the body works and how it relates to Yoga and Asanas. Yann made it a lot of fun.“
– Belinda Brand (New Zealand)
“After many hours of research and contemplation, I finally decided on Loka Yoga School… And I’m so grateful to have made this decision, especially now that I am able to reflect upon a life-changing and rewarding journey! The programme has been constructed so intentionally, it is filled with all the tools you need to teach and so much more! I’ve left Loka Yoga with so much more confidence, knowledge and an even greater love and dedication to yoga. Taryn is the most beautiful soul and a phenomenal teacher with so much experience and wisdom. She is truly dedicated to what she does and puts in so much love and energy. She truly cares for each student and ensures you get the most out of the training. This incredible energy, passion and knowledge is consistent from the other teachers also whom I am so grateful for as they are all truly incredible. I cannot recommend this yoga school enough, Loka yoga will offer everything you need and more. This training will help you grow in so many ways and offer you the most unique and fulfilling experience. Thank You!”
– Justine McGartland (Wales, UK)
“Taryn and Yann, have created a magical space that truly holds the power to transform people’s lives in the best of ways. I am incredibly grateful for all they have provided me with, and I am beyond thankful to have them in my life as mentors and friends. A massive THANK YOU to them both for inspiring me and preparing me to teach yoga and share the valuable knowledge they have given me. I truly do not know where to begin, but I will start by saying that this place has transformed my life in the most incredible ways. I thought I was going to Loka Yoga to be certified as a yoga instructor, but after leaving, I realized that I gained so much more than just a certificate. I gained knowledge and ancient wisdom on yoga from Taryn. Throughout the course, Taryn constantly referenced the origins of yoga, whether through her usage of Sanskrit, explaining the philosophy behind certain asanas (postures), or sharing the mythologies and stories surrounding yoga. I gained invaluable insights and teachings about life, philosophy, and being human. The Yoga Philosophy classes were life-changing. I already incorporate many of the lessons from this class into my daily life. Learning about ancient yoga philosophy and adapting it to our reality today has been truly transformative. Huge kudos to Taryn for structuring the philosophy curriculum in this incredible way.
I learned so much about my own body and my future students’ bodies through Yann’s anatomy classes. Anatomy has helped me look at yoga differently. It allowed me to “feel” yoga and its subtle effects on every part of my body. The course covers all aspects of anatomy relevant to any yoga instructor and more.
I gained incredible knowledge from our asana posture labs led by Taryn, which dive deep into each yoga posture, explaining all the anatomical and spiritual benefits of the pose, providing us with various adjustments and options for our own teachings. I learned so much about Yoga Mechanics from Stella’s classes. I truly enjoyed Deva’s contributions to the course through music and dance, which were pivotal in helping me find my own voice as a teacher.
Above all, I was granted a little family that I will forever cherish. Thanks to Loka Yoga, I fostered everlasting bonds with a group of fellow yogis. We shared each other’s presence for a whole month, laughter, tears, and memories that will forever live in my heart.”
– Orchida Wesam (Egypt)
“My experience with Loka Yoga School has been truly AMAZING! I first joined their retreat in April 2023 when I got to know Taryn and I became so inspired by the love, dedication and commitment to what she does. So, I decided to join their 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training in July 2023 (knowing that there’s nowhere else I’d rather go for this experience). I have complete trust in Taryn and Yann and the other Loka Yoga School teachers; with their knowledge, experience, professionalism and their kind and loving hearts.
Taryn’s way of teaching was really awesome. She has also supported me through the challenges I face, all physically, mentally and emotionally and I came out feeling stronger and so proud of myself. Yann has in-depth knowledge in Anatomy. He made the class very interesting and he also made it possible for me (non native English speaker) to understand. The philosophy classes were truly something I looked forward to everyday. I have learned so much and above all I had a really good time and I got to meet some great friends from around the world. Thank you so much, Taryn, Yann and all Loka Yoga School teachers! It was an experience I will always cherish.”
– Achita Singhaseni (Thailand)
“One of the best decisions I’ve ever made in my life was choosing this 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training. It was truly unique for me. Taryn believed in me before even knowing me, welcoming me from the bottom of her heart. She honored me by bringing me into her journey, despite my vision and hearing impairment. This was the most surprising and rewarding aspect that affirmed my decision to join this incredible school. The support and love I received from this school fulfilled everything I was searching for. They embraced me warmly, making me feel deeply appreciated. This training has left a lasting impression on my heart, one that I will never forget. Taryn and Yann provided me with all the knowledge and tools necessary to become a great yoga teacher. Taryn, in particular, is an exceptional yoga teacher. I give her a perfect score of 100/100. She goes above and beyond, giving her all for her students. She creates a wonderful and comfortable space, both externally and internally, allowing you to feel free and fully present in your practice of asanas and pranayama. She encourages you to channel all your energy because she herself puts so much passion into what she does. Yann is an excellent anatomy teacher; capable of answering any and all questions thrown his way and making classes so fun and engaging.
The best aspect of this school is the blend of ancient and modern yoga practices. This combination was exactly what I needed. The accommodation is incredibly relaxing and comfortable, and the atmosphere is serene. I couldn’t be more grateful for discovering this training and being a part of it. All my love.”
– Rebecca Samarani (Lebanon)

“The entire teaching team was phenomenal. Taryn is one of the most kind, knowledgeable, gracious and strong women I have ever met and her years of yoga study in India grounds the whole course with her first hand learnings. She is an outstanding teacher and mentor who guided each of us through our own lessons and challenges every day. Her good humor is contagious and brought deep joy.’
– Sarah Hawkinson (USA)
” The teachers are loving, authentic, and professional, sharing their knowledge in the best and most understandable way possible. Learning from them was a true pleasure. Taryn inspired me deeply with her kind, joyful nature and the knowledge she has gained over the years. She puts her whole heart into this space which can be felt every single day. She is always there, holding space and time for each student, and I always felt safe, supported, and encouraged. There was no judgement, no pressure, just love and support from the teachers and my fellow yogis.”
– Amelie Rosenberger (Germany)
“Anyone looking to dive into the world of yoga should first look here! Taryn has very lovingly and thoughtfully put together a wonderful, all-encompassing yoga teacher training. It’s not just a course, it’s an experience that offers the opportunity to go deeper into what is yoga. Many thanks to Taryn and Yann and the entire Loka Yoga team that make this course what it is!”
– Julia Becht (USA)
“It’s hard to put my experience at Loka Yoga School into words – it has fundamentally changed me as a person and I am so so grateful to have been lucky enough to have secured a spot! Taryn has such a special ability to make people feel so safe, welcomed, held, empowered and inspired. From the second we were in contact I was amazed by her promptness, thorough answers to my (many!) questions, and the fact that she’s not just there for our yoga needs but the entire experience of traveling to Bali. Her years and years of experience learning from Gurus in India, working with Olympic athletes, her depth of knowledge of Sanskrit, unwavering commitment to the authenticity of yoga and dedication to constantly learning as much as humanly possible is mesmerizing and couldn’t have set us up better to become yoga teachers and share the wisdom we have learned. Under her mentorship I have achieved so much more than I ever thought possible. Ever. My body has changed, my approach to life has changed; I have scoliosis and have moved in ways I haven’t been able to in over 20 years which is mind boggling to me. Taryn’s energy, strength, love, encouragement and integrity will stay with me forever. I have found a beautiful family I know are here to support each other for life. If you’re considering YTT, I lovingly encourage you, take that step, get in touch with Taryn and you can see for yourself. If honesty, kindness, quality, authenticity, humour, wisdom, growth, knowledge, safety, nurture, encouragement, passion, dedication, wisdom and transformation resonate with you, I guarantee you, it can be found here.”
– Amy Alexander (Scotland)
“Loka Yoga School’s 200hr YTT training has exceeded my expectations. Writing this on the last day, the amount of love I feel right now is indescribable with words. I will forever be grateful for this experience. Not only did I learn so much about the practice itself, but I gained a deeper understanding of myself and insights into where I would like to direct my attention moving forward. This teacher training is intense, it is challenging physically, mentally, and emotionally. However, I’ve observed that these conditions create a remarkable opportunity for exponential growth and transformation.
I know that I have come out of this school more empowered, inspired, compassionate, present, and confident than I ever thought possible in a months time.
Taryn is wickedly passionate about teaching, and this passion seeps into every aspect of this course and us students as well. The way she structures and carries out each day is so well thought out. We dive deep into so many areas of yoga not mentioned on our certificate; from teaching yoga to kids, Biomechanics, Kirtan, Ecstatic dance, breathwork exploration, the list goes on. The opportunity of exposure in these areas is so valuable, and allows for students to explore where we may want to direct our own teachings. Having an instructor that can energize and inspire is rare and so important. I am honored to have started my journey as a yoga teacher with Taryn and Loka Yoga. And her commitment to supporting students beyond the training is amazing. I am strong, supported, and free. Thank you for this experience, it will stay with me forever.”
– Josie Pringle (USA)
“I don’t know where to start to describe this life changing YTT with Loka Yoga. I never considered myself a yogi or particularly spiritual, but if you are the same: I can only recommend you to join this YTT! Especially if you doubt yourself or think that you are “not good enough to do a teacher training”. I went outside of my comfort zone every day and don’t regret a minute of it. The love and devotion of the teachers but also other students is beyond anything I ever experienced and it was such a safe space on every level. I can say with certainty that this YTT is the right one if you want to grow, let go, discover more about yourself and learn, learn, learn while feeling so supported and held.
Taryn, Yann, Stella and the team are incredibly knowledgeable and inspiring, it was such a pleasure to learn from them and there was no question they left unanswered. Every person was able to be themselves at any time, there was no judgement, just love and care. I wish for everyone to experience this amazing YTT with Loka Yoga School, a truly special place that will stay in my heart forever. I can’t recommend it enough!”
– Hannah Eggerstedt (Germany)
“Loka Yoga School’s 200-hour YTT program exceeded all my expectations in every aspect. Taryn and Yann are such caring and wonderful human beings. They go above and beyond to ensure all students are well taken care of in every way. I’m so grateful to have had the opportunity to know them. The venue is fantastic, located close to the beach and equipped with all necessary facilities. The food is wonderful, offering a variety of colorful options that cater to everyone’s dietary restrictions. The entire program is very well-structured, delivering knowledge in an exciting, engaging manner that is neither boring nor tiring. Every detail has been carefully considered. And all the teachers are wonderful! And most importantly they really teach you how to teach!”
– Mehrnaz Zouqi (USA)

I signed up for the course to learn more about yoga and to deepen my own personal practice but I left with more than I could ever have imagined. All expectations were well and truly exceeded! The way Taryn and Yann have designed the course is exceptional. Before completing the course I never thought I’d have the confidence and ability to teach a 60 minute class but you really are prepared for it. Taryn and Yann and the other teachers are all so knowledgeable and passionate about what they teach. Yann’s anatomy classes were always so well-informed but he delivers them in such a fun way. Taryn’s workshops were just amazing and I loved practicing different styles of yoga each morning from hatha, vinyasa and especially yin yoga!

From day one they created such a safe, loving and accepting space for us all which allowed us to connect on a deeper level and become a yoga family. So if you’re looking for a YTT in Bali, a place to learn, grow, and deepen your yoga practice both on and off the mat, I honestly can’t recommend Loka Yoga School enough. “My time at Loka Yoga was a truly life changing experience and more than exceeded my expectations. I came to the 200 hour training hoping to find the courage to teach yoga and take a first step toward spiritual teaching, but this course did so much more! I didn’t just find my courage I discovered a part of myself that I will take with me for the rest of my life. There is a beautiful balance of science and yoga philosophy and I felt empowered to integrate the aspects that resonated most with me. The structure of the entire 4 weeks was designed so intelligently and with such love and care. It pushed me to my core, I always received the tools I needed which gave me the space to fall in love with teaching. I was so blown away by my experience and all I can say is, if you have the chance to join, take it!”
– Sarah Hawkinson (USA)
“The 200hr YTT course is structured impeccably – the love, careful consideration and intelligence Taryn and Yann have poured into the timetabling is evident daily. Everything just seems to align perfectly and fall into place in such a magical way! Every day I wake up excited for what the day holds with our practice, anatomy, philosophy, Yoga Bio-Mechanics or other classes – the variety is incredible and the quality of content constantly engaging and impressive. I’ve gone from being curious about what my body can do, to feeling prepared, empowered and excited to be a yoga teacher! Taryn and Yann blew any expectations I had out of what a YTT course might be out of the water.”
– Amy Alexander (Scotland)
“The 200hr yoga teacher training with Taryn and Yann at Loka Yoga School in Bali exceeded all my expectations. It is hard to put words on the amazing heartfelt experience . I came to make a break from corporate life and get a yoga certificate. I came thinking I would deepen my yoga practice and detox my body. I got all this and much, much more… Not only did I get world class yoga teacher training with competent and hugely passionate teachers (I loved the curriculum with intense yoga practice along with anatomy, philosophy, biomechanics classes and much more!), but I also got a rich and unique life experience. I come out of the training with a deepened Purpose, with a renewed belief in limitless possibilities. My body, mind and spirit feel spacious and light. – Geraldine Deiss (France)
“I don’t quite have all the words to describe the amazing month I have just had at Loka Yoga school. The course has exceeded my expectations in every way – this is so much more than a 4 week yoga course. Yes, you will learn asanas but you will gain so much physically, spiritually and emotionally. Taryn and Yann’s commitment, warm nature and values shine through in everything they do.
The yoga element and the posture labs were highly detailed, passionately and expertly delivered. I now feel confident and equipped to teach yoga in a variety of ways.
The yoga philosophy component of the course was truly magic, delivering teachings on ancient yoga philosophy and making it relevant and recognisable for a modern day audience. You are guided to do the inner work, which is necessary if you truly want to grow!
Yann’s anatomy lessons were thorough, well delivered and structured. I now know so much more about the human anatomy – which is going to aid me so much when planning lessons and understanding physical limitations that different bodies have. The body is so wonderful and I am so happy this was such a big part of the course.
This experience will forever be in my heart. It has allowed me to grow and live in true alignment with my purpose.
So much gratitude for Loka Yoga School; Taryn, Yann and for all the incredible yogis that I shared this last month with.”

“My time at Loka Yoga School was just one incredible journey. It was much deeper than I expected and truly transformational. The morning classes were very varied, including different meditation and pranayama exercises followed by asana (hatha, vinyasa, yin, Iyengar, Ashtanga…). Anatomy and philosophy classes were interesting and fun while being very interactive! The asana and bio mechanics workshops help understand the postures on a deeper level. The courses perfectly build one on the other. The teachers are all very passionate and committed to their practice and teaching. Taryn created such a loving safe space allowing every participant to grow during the four weeks of the training. The teaching practicums were exciting and fun at the same time and we were prepared through the different classes to provide classes ourselves. The venue is beautiful and the meals were so good every day and gave us as a group another opportunity to exchange. Thank you to Taryn, Yann and the whole team of Loka Yoga School for what you created!”

“I recently attended a 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training at Loka Yoga School in Bali. The experience was so much more than I could have ever imagined. I attended not because I wanted to teach Yoga, but the thought of immersing myself totally in all things Yoga for a month appealed. But to my surprise by the end of the course I had the belief in myself and the skills to be a Yoga teacher! The course was so well structured and thought out. Taryn created such a safe space and a beautiful culture within the group that we very quickly began to feel like family. It enabled a platform for personal growth beyond anything I thought was possible. The course content was very professional and all the teachers involved were incredible. I learnt Philosophy, anatomy, sequencing, adjustments and corrections, breath work and so much more!! There were so many other components to the course that contributed to creating an absolutely transformational, beautiful experience. Thoroughly recommend Loka Yoga School.”

“Completing my 200-hr YTT at Loka Yoga School has been the absolute best decision I’ve ever made. From the point of enrolling, Taryn was incredibly helpful while navigating the logistics of traveling across the world (from New Hampshire, USA!) and ensured that I received all the information to make the journey as smooth as possible. The program itself completely exceeded my expectations of what I thought I would get out of a yoga teacher training course. Every day is set up so there was time for learning, self reflection and growth. Classes built upon each other, learning aspects of yoga that changed how I think about life, seamlessly integrating anatomy, philosophy and asana (physical yoga practice). But the real aspect that will have a lasting effect on my life, is the family that I got from it. Taryn, Yann and the other instructors have created such a beautiful space that we walked in as a group of strangers, and walked out as yoga teachers and lifelong friends. I am forever grateful for this experience.”

I wasn’t expecting to feel so different and the training has surpassed all expectations. If you’re on the fence as to whether you should do your training, trust yourself and take the plunge as you 100% won’t regret it. Best thing I’ve done for myself in years!!“

“When I first researched Yoga Teacher Trainings in Bali, I was overwhelmed and skeptical about choosing the right school. Whether it would provide the training that I’ve been seeking, the depth, and the emotional and spiritual journey. However, something inside me drew me naturally to Loka Yoga School. The length of time that was offered (4 weeks) also convinced me to do the YTT at Loka Yoga School, since you also need time to learn an extensive and deep practice.
Now having attended, I truly do believe that Loka Yoga School is the absolute best and most authentic yoga school in Bali. Whether to deepen your personal yoga practice, or to become a confident, authentic yoga teacher, or both! The experience of doing a YTT at Loka Yoga school is truly life-changing, eye-opening, and therapeutic, giving you the opportunity to peel away the layers and dive deeper into yourself, physically, mentally and spiritually, if you wish to do so. Lead teachers and founders – Taryn and Yann – have a way to hold a safe, understanding, non-judgemental space for all members, while teaching yoga from the ground up.
What I love about their teaching methods is, that it’s not focused on ‘commercial Yoga’ at all, rather that it focuses on yoga as a whole; physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually, while making it all tangible and easy to understand and apply yoga to your every day life in some form… ultimately leading to be a more confident yoga teacher, and a more content person overall 🙂
All the teachers at Loka Yoga school have an extensive knowledge and truly practice and live what they teach. Be it Taryn’s passionate, motherly, yet somewhat fiery approach and positive vibes through and through and her sweet and therapeutic approach in yoga philosophy or Yann’s extensive hands-on knowledge of Yoga Anatomy, working with injuries and answering our random questions. Also the extra activities, such as Ecstatic dance and Kirtan experiences, for another mature, yet playful way of expression!
What I really valued is that all the teachers were not hesitant to share their knowledge, experiences and unique gifts! All while fitting it all in a very intelligently designed schedule of 4 weeks for the YTT, not cramming it all in (as most other yoga schools do) but evenly spreading it out to make sure that students get the most of all the unique experiences during the YTT, having enough time to embody it!
Everything I was looking for in a YTT was fulfilled at Loka Yoga School.
I’ve been taken care of, welcomed in a wonderful and open group of people, and started the beginning of a new journey of self-discovery and confidence.
The way all our emotions were welcomed by the teachers openly and with no judgement at all felt very healing. The teachers are amazing and acknowledging in holding space for each individual within a group. That’s truly remarkable!
Having gone through the journey at Loka Yoga School showed me again, that I can trust my intuition in choosing the right things for me, it jump started a much-needed healing journey for me, and it truly prepared me better for the ‘real world’.
Although challenging at times, I had the most serene experience, better than what I expected! And even through the challenges I was guided with gentleness and softness. During my time at Loka Yoga, I learned how to process my emotions better, how to release weight, and how to build up strength and resilience again! It’s like I was not only prepared to be an authentic Yoga Teacher, but also how to show up more authentically and unapologetically in life!
I will be forever grateful for Taryn and Yann, that they chose me as well for their YTT, and for everything they’ve given me!”

“I decided to attend Loka Yoga School because I was desperate for a change in my life. I was battling depression, anxiety and a substance use disorder. I knew that the only way to get out of that state of mind and point in my life I had to go inwards. I had to work on myself internally, come to terms with traumatic experiences and face a lot of things I had been avoiding. I knew Taryn and her guidance wouldn’t be able to just ‘fix’ me, I knew it was going to take a lot of hard work solely from myself.
They dive into the history of yoga and offer such insightful perspectives that not only apply to yoga, but life in general. They are true yogis who practice what they preach and genuinely care about helping others reach this level of peace. They prepare you for teaching in every way possible and are super supportive in the process.
Loka Yoga School permanently changed me for the better and saved me from a really really dark place that I’ve been stuck in for nearly 8 years. They’ve given me the tools, support and strength to ensure me I never have to go back to that place. And if for any reason I do I have 19 new best friends who will be happy to be there for me. I am forever grateful for this program, these people and this practice. I’ve been overflowing with gratitude from the moment I met the until now. “
